Who is Ashoka?

Ashoka is a world-renowned nonprofit that is has partnered with ASU to make it a Changemaker Campus. With nearly 3,000 Ashoka Fellows in over 70 countries putting their system changing ideas into practice on a global scale, Ashoka is the most impactful network of social entrepreneurs on the scene today. While Ashoka Fellows remain the core, Ashoka's mission has evolved beyond catalyzing individual entrepreneurs to enabling an "everyone a changemaker" world. Ashoka’s strategic initiatives focus on setting in motion the people, resources and ecosystems that will bring about a social revolution where everyone contributes to change for the good of all.

What positions is Ashoka hiring for?

  • Partnerships Associate (Changemakers): The Partnerships Associate will possess strong business acumen and outstanding communication skills, as well as creativity, passion, and demonstrated commitment to positive social change and social entrepreneurship. This individual will be responsible for efficient and effective support of the business development and fundraising process.
  • Program Associate (Ashoka U): Ashoka U seeks an entrepreneurial, mature, and experienced Program Associate to create a strong foundation to support the team. This role will serve as a resource across all major Ashoka U strategic areas, including Changemaker Campus, Ashoka U Exchange, Global Expansion, and special projects. The candidate will play a key role Ashoka U’s major external communications channels, maintaining the financial health of Ashoka U and driving forward the team culture.

If hired by Ashoka, do I have to relocate?

Most likely. Most positions are located in the headquarters offices in Arlington, VA (Washington, D.C. area). However, Ashoka is a global organization and there may be opportunities elsewhere.

If I don’t apply for the ASU nomination, can I still apply to work for Ashoka?

Yes! Even if you do not receive a nomination from ASU, you are still welcome to apply for the open positions with Ashoka.

What does it mean to be nominated by ASU?

Because ASU is a trusted partner with Ashoka as a Changemaker campus, ASU is able to identify the types of students that will be a good fit with the Ashoka values. ASU nominates up to 3 candidates that will be fast-tracked through the Ashoka recruitment process and given special consideration.

What type of candidate is Ashoka looking for?

Ashoka is looking for someone who understands the Ashoka vision and who is entrepreneurial, collegial, ethical, confident, exceptional, and original. They want someone who has a clear sense of how they can positively impact the world.
