About Us
Changemaker Central @ ASU exists to create a university wide culture that empowers students to apply their passion, knowledge and expertise to create innovative solutions to local, national and global challenges.
We do this by providing the opportunities and resources to inspire, catalyze and sustain student-driven social change through community service, high impact careers and social entrepreneurship.
Established in 2011 as part of ASU’s distinction as an Ashoka U Campus, Changemaker Central is led by a Student Leadership Team and staffed by student “Change Agents”.
Changemaker Central maintains a collaborative co-working space on each of ASU’s four campuses where like-minded students, faculty, and community members can come together to work on their projects, hold meetings, network, or meet community experts and mentors. Change Agents help students connect with the vast array of entrepreneurship-related courses, programs and resources distributed throughout the University.
Changemaker Central also delivers a portfolio of student-led university-wide programs that include the Changemaker Challenge, a seed-funding competition for early stage projects and ventures, and Devils in Disguise, a fifteen year tradition and ASU’s largest day of student-led community service.
As part of the robust ecosystem for civic engagement innovative problem solving at ASU, Changemaker Central embeds service, social action, innovation and entrepreneurship in the lives of students outside of the classroom and reinforces that being a Sun Devil is synonymous with being an agent of positive change in the world.
